Our Shepherd’s Huts

Our Base Specification

Our shepherd’s huts are crafted using traditional methods and high-quality materials to create a timeless, durable structure with a refined finish.

The base structure features a solid oak axle with Douglas fir cross beams, paired with steel wheels, drawbar, and turntable, maintaining the authentic character of a traditional shepherd’s hut.

Externally, the hut is finished with a black Plastisol-coated steel roof, offering both durability and a classic aesthetic. The entire structure is built using high-quality framework and is fully insulated throughout the floor, walls, and ceiling, ensuring comfort and efficiency all year round.

Internally, the hut is beautifully finished with white painted tongue-and-groove walls and ceiling, creating a bright, elegant interior. The space is complemented by engineered oak flooring throughout, adding warmth and a premium feel underfoot.

The hut is fitted with two handcrafted hardwood casement windows and a traditional hardwood stable door, complete with external steps for easy access.

All interior joinery, including architraves and skirting boards, is carefully finished in white, while the interior is decorated using Farrow & Ball paints, renowned for their depth of colour and exceptional finish.

The result is a beautifully crafted shepherd’s hut that combines traditional craftsmanship with high-quality materials and timeless design.

Example Floor Plan

Because shepherd’s huts are compact by design, the layout needs to make the best possible use of the available space. Over time we’ve developed a layout that works well for both comfort and practicality.

Typically, the bathroom is positioned at one end of the hut, creating a private space with a shower, toilet and sink. The main living area then includes a compact kitchen along one wall, keeping the space open and functional.

At the opposite end, the sleeping area sits within the living space, allowing the hut to feel larger while still providing everything needed for a comfortable stay.

While finishes and features can vary between projects, most of our huts follow a similar layout to ensure the space works efficiently.
